What is DOIP?

DOIP is an ISO 13400 diagnostic protocol

ISO 13400-1:2011 describes the general use cases and communication scenarios covered by the Internet Protocol-based vehicle communication standard. Each use case drives a specific communication capability of the vehicle communication interface, for example so that it is interoperable in an existing computer network.

Diagnostic communication for the Internet Protocol (DoIP) protocol supports standardized service primitive interfaces specified in ISO 14229-2.

The description in ISO 13400-1:2011 covers different application layer implementations,

For example:

Enhanced vehicle diagnostics (system diagnostics beyond statutory functions, non-emissions-related system diagnostics);

WWH-OBD (Globally Coordinated On-Board Diagnostics), compliant with ISO 27145-2 and ISO 27145-3.

Where do I need a DOIP device?

When we tested a new Mercedes car like the w222 w205

In the Audio \ Comand section, you can find the DoIP test page.

If the cable is DoIP, you will see a green mark with DEVICE Ok.

Xentry will prompt you that other devices must be marked with yellow.
